The Column B tool, also known as Input B, is a digitizing tool in Wilcom Embroidery Studio e4.2 used for creating satin or column stitches with variable width. Unlike Input A, which maintains a uniform width, Input B allows for changing widths, making it ideal for more complex, curved, or tapering shapes.
Key Features of Input B:
- Variable Width: Enables stitch width variation, making it suitable for objects with widening or narrowing sections.
- Smooth & Curved Shapes: Best for script fonts, floral elements, and natural flowing designs.
- Manual Stitch Angle Control: Allows precise placement of stitch angles for a natural look.
- Versatile Usage: Commonly used for letters, borders, decorative elements, and complex embroidery shapes.
How to Use Input B:
- Select Input B from the digitizing toolbar.
- Click along both sides of the shape to define the width at each point.
- Adjust angles to control stitch direction and flow.
- Press Enter to complete the object.
- Modify density and stitch settings as needed for the best embroidery results.
This tool is preferred when a dynamic stitch width is required to achieve a more realistic, flowing, and professional embroidery effect.
